I find 2nd house interesting because I spent my
entire life trying to know what I have. I grew up thinking I am not capable of
doing anything, so I guess it forced me to know what my innate talents are. And
to be honest with you, this is the most difficult thing to realize because it
takes time. 2nd house, along with 1st and 3rd
house are the houses of which represents hidden parts of ourselves that we don’t
know. If we don’t know it or sees it within ourselves, then others won’t. If we
don’t know our value, we cannot expect others to know our value. It is so innate in all of us that we can
overlook it but it there. The difference
between the 12th house of not knowing is that others know our 12th
house, although we may not see it for ourselves.
What is my worth? That is question of the 2nd
house. Who are you and what do you have? The second house is so natural, primitive,
non negotiable and stable, maybe that’s why it is naturally ruled by Taurus,
the stubborn and unflinching Taurus who simply values what it has. When we are
young, I guess it is easier to see ourselves or what should we value in
ourselves through the eyes of the society or culture we grew up in, that’s easy.
We measure ourselves against the society we grew up in, our heritage, our home.
Don’t lose this, don’t lose that. Value your so and so and so forth. But as we
grow older, we also outgrow what we used to value. When the 2nd
house or the house of value changes; the rest of what he hold dear changes,
meaning our entire paradigm shifts. Guess, we would only realize our true value
when we no longer hold on to the values we used to have.
Venus on the 2nd house values beauty but meaning
or the substance of what it can be deemed as beautiful changes as we grow
mature. Without knowing what we have in the 2nd house, we will never
know what we have to offer when we are in the 8th house. We won’t be
able to rest and transform ourselves.
