I watched Rocky Balboa, the last movie and I really like
Sylvester Stallone. For one, I think he is a successful and admirable artist in
every way. He is known with a most of single named movies; there’s Rocky, there’s
Rambo, The Expandable. I feel that Sylvester is trying to teach us some lessons
about life and there is no other artist out there who has the right to do so.
This guy is legit. I hate to be fanatical but he deserves so much honors and
awards than he probably is getting. I mean come on. Anyway, in the Rocky movie,
there’s this scene where he told his son about life, about lessons in life. He
said… it is not how hard you get hit, but it is about how hard you get hit and
still move forward.
I believe, my friend, he is talking about Chiron. Chiron is
that guy who is blamed all his life for everything, he’s been hurt more than
that boxer, Rocky. Chiron represents that part of us who always doubts and who
is always wounded. And yet, Chiron fights, still try, and keep trying to get
better, to be better and that’s inspiring in every way. The only thing that
Chiron wants is to be better. We all do. We all want to get pass that old
selves and outgrow them. The journey of Chiron, is life itself. And if you want
to learn about Chiron and life, ask that person next to you who have been so
bullied all his life and being told you’re not good enough and yet keep on
living life. Not because he allows other’s to help hurt him by accepting his
punches but because it is part of the journey he needs to take on.
